Biography

Liz Oliver grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and, ever drawn to the mystery of the mountains, got her foothold in textile arts at Appalachian State University.

Liz comes from a family of skilled makers that were pioneers in the Blue Ridge Mountain area. This region of NC is rich in handcraft tradition. Her heritage of craftspeople has encouraged within her an appreciation of labor, fortitude…doing things by hand….the process is just as fulfilling to Liz as the result.

Along with being an independent fine artist, Oliver works as a textile artist for Costume Designers in the Film and TV industry. She has worked with some of the most nationally known designers, including Colleen Atwood, Trish Summerville, Kym Barrett, Ruth Carter and Rodarte. She is recognized for her color matching skills.

With over 14 years of working in film, Liz has vast experience collaborating with designers, doing custom work. She is also passionate about interiors, and working together with people in the interior design community.
